Advent Fair

Welcome! The PCWS Alternative Giving 2025 offers the opportunity of providing support to a diverse set of local & global Mission partners. Monetary donations can be a personal gift or in honor of someone special to help others in need.  

As in the past, there will be an array of ways for supporting these mission partners. We hope you’ll consider donating to one or all of the organizations listed below:

 

Nueva Paz Church, Cuba

Our partner church in Nueva Paz, Cuba, continues to serve their congregation and community in times of dire need. Any amount given here will continue to support the breakfast program for seniors, food & medicine for the congregation and their community, solar and battery-powered options for light and other “electrical” needs, and much-needed general support for the pastor, programs, and church maintenance.

        $30 – general support for pastor, programs and maintenance
        $50 – covers the cost of solar-charged lanterns and power sources
        $100 – covers one week of food and supplies for the breakfast program

 

Margaret’s Village

PCWS will purchase $25 Walmart gift cards for use by residents of Margaret’s Village’s Maria & Believe Family Shelters on the south side of Chicago. Whether a parent purchases a gift for their child or essentials for daily living, these cards will help individuals & families journeying out of homelessness.

 

Heifer Project

Heifer’s mission for over 80 years has been finding sustainable ways of ending hunger and poverty. Heifer supports and invests in local farmers and their communities worldwide. Your donation helps sustain this vital organization. Here is a delightful assortment of ideas pleasing to the recipient while helping others around.

• $20 donation: flock of chicks or ducks
• $30 donation: hive of honey bees
• $60 donation: Earth Basket (hive of bees & tree seedlings)

 

Need an Honor Card for any of these organizations??  Cards are available through the church office or available in the Jones Room on Sunday November 30, December 7 and 14.

2025 Collection Opportunities

MARGARET’S VILLAGE & BEDS PLUS CARE                        NEW Hats, Gloves & Mittens                            PCWS is collecting brand new winter hats, mittens, and gloves. These will be shared with BEDS Plus Care helping keep their clients snuggly warm this winter! Donations collected through Sunday, December 14 Drop off at the collection box in the Narthex or by Graham Charter Room

 

BEDS PLUS CARE PCWS is collecting BRAND NEW socks (especially moisture wicking) and BRAND NEW underwear for men, women & children who are clients at BEDS.  Clients will have  access to new socks and underwear this holiday season. It may not be the most exciting present. It is very MUCH appreciated by the BEDS clients. Donations collected through Sunday, December 14 Drop off at collection box in the Narthex or by Graham Charter Room

 

PINE AVENUE FOOD PANTRY Our annual “Stock the Pantry” holiday drive of canned goods & non-perishable food items PCWS is collecting canned goods & non-perishable food for Pine Avenue Food Pantry in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago. This food helps restock the pantry as they start the new year. The Pantry shelves are very empty by Christmas time. Please help as you are able to stock the Pine Avenue Pantry! Donations collected through Sunday, December 28. Leave under the Christmas Tree in the Narthex

 

Finalizing Your Selections

Cash/check: Attach your check to the completed Advent Fair Form. Make the check payable to “PCWS” for the total donation amount. Write “AF2025” on the memo line. Place the completed Advent Fair Form in the offering plate, bring to church during the week or mail to PCWS 

Online: Click this link to use the PCWS Online Giving portal. Scroll to the bottom section “Alternative Giving 2025” enter your donation amount for each organization you wish to support. Follow the system prompts for payment via credit card or bank account. You will receive an online receipt.
