A look back at our 2026 Lenten Trifecta

Mission is a central part of who we are as PCWS.  From our beginning in 1955, we have sought opportunities to engage with the world around us. We look for ways of supporting those in need in any number of creative and impactful ways. With the arrival of Lent this year, we looked for our Service to turn our faith outward. PCWS provided three different ways during Lent for sharing our love & connecting with communities near and far.

  • We provided tangible support for BEDS Plus clients with donations of toiletry items. This collection continues building our partnership since the 1988 founding of BEDS.
  • Terri Rivera from BEDS Plus and a former client joined us on Sunday March 8th. Terri shared about the BEDS Plus mission and the former client shared about his journey from homelessness.
  • Our Pop-Up Mission project on March 22nd create 96 hygiene kits for Church World Service. These kits also support Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) as they respond to persons in need. The essential hygiene items, shampoo, soap, comb, toothbrush/paste, washcloth, deodorant, lotion and nail clippers, were all packed in a one-gallon bag.
  • One Great Hour of Sharing, our PCUSA denomination’s offering, was collected on Easter Sunday April 5th.  This special Lenten offering aids people lacking access to life’s basic necessities in the United States and across the globe.
