WORSHIP
A Commitment to God
Worship is a celebration of our love for God and our faith in Jesus Christ. It is an opportunity to join in a time of learning, fellowship and renewal.
PCWS worships at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Our hour-long worship service provides an opportunity for us to gather a family of faith for a service grounded in the Reformed tradition. Each worship service follows a traditional format of hymns, prayer, anthems, Words for Children, scripture, sermon and offering. Our order of worship includes traditional and innovative elements as we gather for prayers, hearing and responding to God’s word from the Bible and through the sermon, and commitments to service and financial stewardship. Joys and concerns are shared during the service, allowing friends and members to be aware of prayer requests and opportunities for learning and service in Christ’s name. Communion is celebrated once a month, on the first Sunday of the month. Additionally, communion is celebrated on Maundy Thursday and at the 11:00 p.m. Christmas Eve service. All who profess faith in Jesus Christ are welcome to share in Communion.
The Chancel Choir sings at most services from September-June. The Children’s Choirs and Handbell Choir for youth and adults also participate in leading worship on many Sundays during the school year. Instrumental musicians (including woodwinds, brass, percussion, timpani and strings) from the Congregation as well as guests provide special music through the year.
Age appropriate Sunday School classes for children begin at 9:45 (after Words for Children) and end at 10:30. For more information visit the Children – Sunday School page.
Nursery and Sunday School for infants, toddlers and Preschoolers are available every Sunday during worship.
Sunday Schedule:
